TalkRADIO presenter and former Channel 5 TV host Matthew Wright, has welcomed a baby daughter with wife Amelia, after they underwent eight years of IVF treatment.
The pair are celebrating the arrival of Cassady, who was born this evening after Amelia was admitted to hospital yesterday.
Cassady weighed in at five and a half pounds and Amelia revealed that they were going to be having their baby today by text but only after Matthew had finished his radio show.
Matthew revealed to Sun Online that Ameila messaged: “Ok we are having a baby this evening or basically as soon as you get here. you will be taken to the labour ward and given blue pyjamas to wear. Xx”
The former presenter of The Wright Stuff on Channel 5 had previously admitted to not really wanting children, especially after the couple had suffered a number of miscarriages during their IVF journey.
After an "extremely difficult" first four months to the pregnancy, in which Amelia had health concerns but that has been quickly filed in the past with Cassady’s safe arrival.
The pregnancy was announced last September, when Amelia shared the news in a Tweet to Matthew.
She wrote at the time: "After eight challenging years of IVF, we are thrilled to announce that on our last roll of the dice, we got lucky and are expecting a baby girl. Woo hoo! @Matthew_Wright."
IVF treatment had been required after Amelia suffered a near fatal ectopic pregnancy, which left her unable to conceive naturally.
